He brings 18 years of professional stage experience, performing leading principal roles across classical, neoclassical, and contemporary repertoires.

In 2007, Ludvig joined The Israel Ballet, where he served as a Principal Dancer from 2007 to 2024. The company is internationally recognized for presenting both classical masterworks and innovative contemporary choreography on world stages, and Ludvig was a central artistic force throughout his tenure.

Ludvig is also the Director of the newly formed professional ballet company in Los Angeles, Grand Ballet Los Angeles, where he recently premiered a critically admired neoclassical interpretation of The Nutcracker. This production showcased his distinctive artistic voice—honoring classical tradition while boldly reimagining it through a contemporary lens—and marked an important new chapter for professional ballet in Los Angeles.

In addition to his performance career, Ludvig is an accomplished and visionary choreographer. His creative credits include full-length works such as Nutz, Line (created for eight solo dancers), and Love Story. He has also choreographed for Israel’s national artistic roller-skating team and contributed to major television productions, including X Factor and Only Want to Dance. He has further served as both choreographer and judge for Mia Arbatova.

Equally respected as an educator, Ludvig has taught at many of Israel’s leading institutions, including Thelma Yellin High School of the Arts, Reut School of Arts, Kullier Community Center, Studio B, Studio Pure, and other prominent ballet schools and professional training centers.

Now based in Los Angeles, Ludvig is represented by Go2Talent and continues to teach both private and group ballet technique classes internationally. His pedagogy is firmly rooted in the Vaganova tradition, enriched by musicality, expressive depth, and professional performance standards.

Rooted in his ten years of Vaganova training and nearly two decades as a Principal Dancer with The Israel Ballet, Ludvig’s teaching philosophy centers on building a powerful classical foundation while nurturing individuality and stage presence. He believes that technique is not an end in itself, but a language through which dancers communicate emotion, character, and story.

Ludvig emphasizes:

• Strength through correct placement and alignment
• Precision in épaulement, musicality, and coordination
• Development of jumps, turns, and dynamic power
• Emotional authenticity and theatrical presence
• Discipline, resilience, and professional mindset

Having performed leading roles across classical, neoclassical, and contemporary repertoire, Ludvig understands what is required not only to execute choreography, but to command the stage. His classes are structured, demanding, and detail-oriented, designed to elevate dancers beyond comfort and into growth.

As an Artistic Director and choreographer, Ludvig encourages dancers to take ownership of their artistry. He challenges students to move with intention, to understand the purpose behind each step, and to develop both physical excellence and inner strength.

His ultimate goal is to cultivate complete artists — dancers who are technically refined, mentally strong, and capable of performing at a professional and international level.

Principle of Ballet & Classical DanceTaylor Hugens

Taylor Hugens is a dedicated ballet artist and educator whose training and performance experience reflect deep classical roots and emerging professional excellence. Originally from Pasadena, California, she began her dance journey at age three with Pasadena Civic Ballet, where she trained through her graduation in 2023. Throughout her formative years, Taylor studied with esteemed instructors and expanded her training at prestigious summer intensives including School of American Ballet, Boston Ballet, Pacific Northwest Ballet, and American Ballet Theatre.

In the 2023/24 season, Taylor joined Los Angeles Ballet as a trainee, performing in key repertoire including The Nutcracker, George Balanchine’s Serenade, and Yuri Possokhov’s Firebird. She also appeared as First Violin in Balanchine’s Concerto Barocco at Westside Ballet’s gala under the staging of Patricia Neary. For the 2024/25 season, Taylor continues her professional development with Los Angeles Ballet as an apprentice, where she contributes to both classical and contemporary productions.

Taylor brings to her teaching a strong technical foundation, a passion for musicality, and firsthand insight into the demands of professional ballet training and performance.
Teaching Philosophy

Taylor Hugens believes that strong classical technique is the foundation for both artistic freedom and long-term growth in ballet. Having trained at prestigious institutions and performed professionally, she understands that true development comes from consistency, clarity, and attention to detail.

Her teaching emphasizes:

• Clean, precise placement and alignment
• Strong foundational technique and coordination
• Musicality and phrasing
• Control, balance, and articulation
• Confidence built through understanding

Taylor is especially passionate about breaking down complex movements into clear, accessible components. She believes students thrive when they understand why they are doing something — not just how. Her classes focus on building technical confidence step by step, allowing dancers to progress safely and intelligently.

With her background in professional productions and Balanchine-influenced repertoire, Taylor values speed, precision, and dynamic energy while maintaining classical purity. She encourages dancers to challenge themselves, remain disciplined, and embrace the process of refinement.

Her goal as an educator is to cultivate dancers who are technically sound, musically aware, and artistically expressive — while fostering a positive and motivating classroom environment where every student feels capable of growth.
